Washington DC

Since
this was our only day in Washington DC (Originally, we had planned to
be in the area for five days, giving us time to see the
friends and family we know in the area.) We had a busy time, seeing as
many museums and historic places as possible.
We started at
the Natural History museum. The children were amazed at all those dinosaur
bones. Spencer kept asking, "There not alive are they?" We
assured him that they were not alive, but he needed to know that each one
was just bones. Before we left the museum, Uncle Kevin, and Cousins
Laura, Jessica, Joshua and Stephanie met us.
The American
History museum was fascinating! Seeing how our country has advanced over
the years makes us marvel about how much can be done with the minds God
gives
us to use for His glory.
Uncle Kevin
brought a delicious lunch which we ate at the ellipse in front of the White
House. We were thankful for his thoughtfulness in bringing sandwiches,
chips, salads and juice.
Resuming our
tour, we approached the White House. The children realized who lived
there, but they wondered why we couldn't visit the President. The
agents were busy clearing the area for helicopter operations.
Our day in DC ended at the Air and Space museum. It was wonderful for the children to
see the historic planes they have read about in history class. The Spirit of
Saint Louis and the Wright's Brothers plane created great excitement for
the older ones.
We were
blessed by ending our day at Uncle Kevin's home with Aunt Andre', Grandma Betty and the
other Kettell cousins.
We took many
pictures. We hope you will enjoy our Photo Album pages.
