Saying Good-bye
We are
thankful for all the wonderful times we with had with everyone while we
lived in Connecticut. You all enriched our lives in your own special
way.
Saying
good-bye is always difficult, but knowing that God is directing our course
makes the change easier to accept. We trust He has great things for our
family in Hawaii.
January 23 was
our last Sunday at church. The highlight of our day was when Grace was baptized
during the evening service. We are pleased she understand God's
saving grace and wanted to be obedient to God's word with her baptism. Our
Quidnessett Baptist Church family gave us a wonderful going away
fellowship time after the evening service. We had a grand time visiting
with everyone for the last time. Thank you to all the ladies who did a
wonderful job in preparing for our farewell.
Our last
week was VERY busy. Moving trucks were in the driveway for three
days. A beautiful snow storm delayed progress for one day. Kent and I were
greatly blessed with the Bowman's willingness to watch the children from
Sunday night through Thursday evening. This was a tremendous help since at home we were
busy with packing and making sure the household good crates were packed
properly. When I called to see how things were going Jason said,
"Super!" Many thanks go to our dear friends who took time out of
their normal routine to help us - THANK YOU!
Karen was very
happy to attend Kent's going away party at work.
The people at SUPSHIP Groton were very thoughtful in remembering the
family. Kent received many wonderful thank-yous, Karen was thanked for her
support with a dozen roses, and a travel box was put together for the
children. We thank all who made our last time with you a wonderful memory.
Thank you for allowing us the privilege of being a part of your work
family these past three years.
Once the last
load of household goods was shipped of Friday, we took a trailer load of
"keepsakes" to Pennsylvania. We are thankful to Nana (Kent's Mom)
and Grandpa Ron for storing the children's
treasures. Our White's tree frog, Blueberry, has his new home set up here
too. The
children stayed at Nana's while Kent and Karen returned to Connecticut to
finish cleaning the rental home for our check-out on January 30.
We will took a
few days in PA to prepare for our trip which started on
February 3rd. In the meantime the children enjoyed playing in the deep snow. Nana
had over a foot of snow in her yard, so the children sledded in the
driveway.
