Pensacola, Florida (2/13/00)

Late
Saturday
night we arrived in Pensacola, Florida after driving 650 miles (our
longest day of driving).
There
was so much to do and see in the area, we wished that we had several days
there. We had hoped to see more friends and a cousin at one of the
colleges, but time was limited. We
did stay long enough to celebrate twenty years of friendship with Dick and Dorothy
Jacobs and worship God with them at the Faith Baptist Church.
When
Kent was eighteen years old and an enlisted Third Class Machinist's Mate
at the Nuclear Power School in Orlando, the Jacobs faithfully picked him
up at the base and took him to church with them and included him in
other social events. They were and still are a very special couple.
Dorothy made a feast for us. The children ate well and enjoyed everything.
Although our children only got to know them for a few hours, they were
begging to stay longer as we left. It was a very good day.
