Naples, Florida (2/11/00)

This morning was the
first time we had the opportunity for a relaxing start to the day. We also
took time to repack some luggage which was hurriedly packed in the
subfreezing temperatures during the week of the ice storm in New
England.
After a late
breakfast, we walked along the
beach. We walked down the city of Naples dock being escorted by
"Pete" the pelican. This bird was sleeping on the dock until we
came along. He must have figured our crowd needed to be shown the sites.
When we came to the end of the pier, "Peggy" pelican was
there to greet us.
The children
enjoyed our walk along the beach. They all liked looking for beach
treasures. There were many unique shells and animal life. We saw Joanie, Jack's wife enjoying the sun on the beach. The
children were happy to meet Aunt Joanie.
In the latter
part of the afternoon, the children enjoyed a swim in the hotel pool.
Cousin Zach was able to join in the fun, too. For dinner Aunt Joanie and
Uncle Jack made a delicious chicken dinner. The red beans and rice dish
and salad Joanie
made were wonderful tasting!
That evening
we worshipped at The Shalom Chapel, a ministry of The Shalom
Scripture Studies, Inc. It was a special treat to begin the
Sabbath with Hebrew-Christians.
We took many
pictures which we hope you will enjoy on our Photo Album pages.
